Continuing on from episode 7...

Zhen finds the house of the drunk driver. He bursts in looking for Xiao
and gets in to a fight. He shows off his badassery but his injury acts
up and he faints. Fei Li is worried about Zhen and runs into elder Zhou.
They both go looking for Zhen via the GPS tracker on his phone.
Meanwhile, the radio crew call Xiao's dad.
Zhen and Xiao are tied up together in a box room. Zhen asks that was it because she thought his sister was his gf, that she was cold to him and even threw his gifts of kindness away (even I thought that was a bit extra). She ashamedly admits it. He tells her aside from the women in his family, she is one and only. Xiao is touched. She's going to be even more touched before the day is over.
Xiao is dragged out to discuss with the bad guy. He tries to bribe her, she refuses to play ball, he threatens to kill her. As they are in the middle of it, Daddy Zhou enters and sees Xiao. He asks for his son. The bad guy assemblyman is confused. Fei Li goes to search and brings Zhen back down. He is in such a state, and Daddy Zhou Da Kuan blames Xiao and scolds her. The Assembly man is trying to stir the flames whilst Zhen begs his dad not to abandon Xiao with the guy. Xiao apologises to Da Kuan for getting Zhen injured but the assembly was was in a drunk hit and run, should she be silent about that?
Da Kuan knows she's right so he takes her side. The assemblyman tries to get his boys to kill them. Zhen collapses, the po-pos arrive. They are saved.
At the hospital, Da Kuan, Ying Ying, Fei Li and Xiao Shu are waiting for news on Zhen. Ying Ying blames Xiao. Dad is silent. Xiao tries to apologise to him but he blows her off. Everything works out okay in the end. The family are away for a bit and Xiao is alone with Zhen, he family and Goa come to see her. Xiao and Gao make up.
After she sees her family off, she returns to room and overhear Fei Li and Ying Ying discussing Zhen. Fei Li explains that Zhen couldn't take down the assembly man and his goons because he was already injured in the competition with his friend to win the ad contract for Asia FM. Xiao comes back in when Fei Li and Ying are asleep. She sits by Zhen's bedside and holds his hand
Morning comes and Zhen wakes up to find his hand in Xiao's, it makes him happy.
Xiao goes back home to change and try to make fish stew. I think there is a running tease where Anne Chen is concerned because she does not seem to know how to cook and yet here and in Love, Now; they seem to try and make her cook. Either that or she must be a better actress than I think she is, because her stare-down at the fish reminds me of just how I looked the first time I had to gut fish. Her mom saves the fish from her crazy and helps her make the stew.
Zhen is on stoical cloud nine when she comes back with some home made love spiced stew. He happily eats it. They discuss the elephant in the room Zhou Da Kuan. Xiao tells him not to worry, his kindness to her trumps Zhou Da Kuan being his dad. He asks if she still dislikes his dad, she admits to a revision of opinion.
Zhen eventually gets discharged and Xiao goes to meet his family. She invites Da Kuan to her station for an interview to clear the air. And this goes well with nice comments from the public. Xiao apologies again to Elder Zhou about all the things she's said, and hopes he will forgive her.
Then Da Kuan tells Zhen to stop pretending to work at the station he's no longer going to buy it. (The audience holds their breath) Xiao realises that Zhen has been working two jobs. She still does not go into a rage frenzy. (Me thinks this writer, like a lot of us, is also tired of rage frenzies of ungratefulness) He explains why he did it, and thanks her for being a good friend.
Rather than be consumed by rage, she's melancholic. She decides to have a welcome/farewell party for Zhou Zhen while putting on a happy front.
On the other hand, Ying is finally opening her shop, yet, she's still trying to get back at Gao. That whole thing is cutely boring.
Back to our sizzlers, they are at a hot pot restaurant with the radio lot who are teasing them. After wards, Xiao still has time before her curfew so they go to the batting cages to play. All I can think whilst watching this is that they talk a lot of crap in these shows. And what is with Annie Chen's wardrobe and nude shoes. Nude is not the new black, no matter how hard you try. Anyhoo they try very hard not to jump on each other, and reluctantly part ways. And spend the night staring at their phones trying not to be the first person to text the other.
The next morning, Fei Li drives Zhen to the station. Zhen asks da fuq? Fei Li says but you're not wearing black, so I thought radio station. On the other hand, Xiao is having lovucinations of Zhen.
Zhen decides to use Asia FM for advertising for his hotel and lets them have their company holiday there as well.
Xiao confesses to her best friend about liking Zhen. They go to some
baba ji called Yue Lao to pray for smooth sailing in love.
And they head to the Zhou hotel for their vacation, where Xiao proceeds to be very cringe-worthy with the bloody happiness sweet. I really could not watch this part due to it's embarrassment quotient. Every time she tried to give him the damn thing, there's a blooming distraction.
Fei Li eats Jessica's happiness candy (well I did not see that coming).
He tries to apologise by giving her a bag full but in annoyance and mortification she tells him it's match maker candy. Zhen see Xiao and the bloody sweet siting on rocks being all melancholic. He meets Fei Li who tells him about his faux pas with Jessica. Match-maker candy is to give to the one you like before you tell them. Which clues Zhen about Xiao's silly behaviour, he realises Xiao likes him. She tries to make her way back to the hotel in a stupid manner, and she loses the sweet amongst some rocks. Zhen finds and eats the damn thing putting us all out of our misery.
So it's their first day of dating and Nai Nai comes to visit 'cos there's no one to play with her at home. A bunch of pointless things happen. Nai Nai embarrasses the stupid couple. The hotel is well advertised in this episode. Zhen is a very affectionate boyfriend.
Ying Ying does something smart but has to balance it with something stupid as well. She decides to have a modeling photo shoot for her shop, Gao thinks its a great idea until she tells him she rented a yacht for them to play. They fight and he walks off whilst she throws herself off the pier into the water. He jumps in like an idiot literally and in a twist, she saves his life. He is more worried about her than himself. Ying Ying is touched.
The radio gang leave the hotel in high spirits.
Ying Ying is reading about how to treat people who have drowned, but Pei Li is beating her to the punch. The chick no waste time. Anyway, Gao is a cool cucumber. When he's on his way out, she tries to keep him from going but he's brushes her off politely. Pei Li waxes lyrical. Ying Ying says Pei Li can't like him.
Zhen has somehow recorded a wake up call for Xiao, it's so cheesy I'm retching. Anyway, it's all about Zhen and Zhou spending time together so that's all.
