Fall In Love With Me: Epsode 1- Beating the dead horse of other people's dreams

I am back again with my impressions of 'Fall In Love With Me', a Taiwanese drama.

Impressions:

It's your typical boy meets girl in not really funny circumstances.



First of all, the background music is grating, I think I got a fever from listening to it. I couldn't watch the whole episode in one sitting I had to play Phantasy Star to relieve me from the stress.

For an Asian rom-com hero Lu Tian Xing is very level headed, in fact, he's the saving grace of the whole shindig. On the other hand Tao Zi behaves like she just left kindergarten, everything is solved with shouting or physical violence. I don't understand why writers of this part of the world insist on this kind of stereotype for their rom-com heroines, she's so paint-by-numbers she's a kiddy art workbook. The way she says her lines - her voice, I could stand neither of them, but I was going to persevere, so I muted it. And it got better after that, I actually began to enjoy the story.

The story is of Tian Xing who feels he's loosing his talent and integrity as a corporate advertiser. He escapes from his shifty COO Lance and his minions under disguise and runs into Tao Zi and her team, Mr Cool, Mr. Dim and Miss Flighty strangely named Miao Miao, filming an ad for a dog food company. He helps them out, as his new alter ego Xiao Lu, but they are struck by his likeness to Tian Xing. Previously, Tao zi and and Tian Xing had and altercation which was both their fault, which ended with Tao Zi getting to see Tian Xing's ken doll nether regions 'cos that's the only reason I can think of as to why she screamed like she was the naked one.

He tries to by Oz from the Tao family but they chase him off with awesome Chinese spears, so he decides to use his Xiau Lu persona to help her failing ad company because her dead brother (because there has to be a dead-above reproach sibling) gave him the drive and inspiration to start his own advertising company, and of course, dead brother saved Tian Xing's life cos he thought he was superman, therefore Tian Xing owes dead brother and is willing to make sure his advertising company does not go to the dogs.

He fits in easily with the team and assists them with their latest pitch presentation.

It's definitely intriguing, it least Tian Xing is.
