Tian Xing and Tao Zi's ad agencies compete for the same job with Xiao Lu's help Oz get it but Lance is a dirty scheming bastard, so he uses his connections to snatch the win from Oz's hands. Tao Zi blames Tian Zing being the big baby she is, she attacks him and cries all over the place. Tian Xing tells her shit happens get over it and move on to the next. Since this is not really her calling, she fails, waiting for her prince charming Xiao Lu to help her out. Tian Xing/Xiao Lu does, netting her a new company to use the ad idea. For their ad, they need an old lady and Xiao Lu with her TW-Heroine brand stubbornness wants a certain actress her colleagues are reluctant to go for, but she is insistent.
Tian Xing finds out why the actress has refused to act anymore and tries to tell her, but she's her usual cantankerous self and one thing leads to another she breaks his watch whilst he gives her a few home truths. The repairs cost over $6000 so he takes her brother's watch off her as collateral. She and Xiao Lu go and see the actress but she's cold as ice not speaking to them even though the greet her, they leave. On their way out the meet a neighbour who gives them the skinny on the reason why the actress quit acting. Tao Zi takes it upon herself to solve the actress' family issues (only in asian dramas ¬.¬) I suppose its to prove that Tian Xing was wrong about her.
These two episodes also introduce the hot mess that is Huan Huan of the ditzy super star archetype, the type that can be led about by the nose, but you know is going to suss the Xiau Lu/Tian Xing thing out. She is sister to the obviously shifty Lance and she has three spare keys to Tian Xing's apartment, which is part creepy, part desperate and part deluded.

For Tao Le Zi, Tian Xing is the salt, Xiao Lu is the salve. As Tian Xing, he taunts her and pushes Tao zi to do better, as Xiao Lu he is in the position to support her without her antagonism. And he is falling for her faster than the Shinkansen can get you from Tokyo to Kyoto. Tao Zi also gets the idea that Xiao Lu is poor which I don't get, so she decides to take care of him more. She growing affection is noted by Leo, who has been in love with her since she was sixteen but was biding his time (surprise surprise) , but Miao Miao is in love with Leo (daft). One this going for Tao Zi is she has boobs, no one can all her flat chested that's for sure. I know its a weird thing to point out but after watching so many dramas where the heroine is made fun of for being flat chested as though the competing lady isn't employing the wonders of a wonderbra, it does get tedious.
We are supposed to accept Tao Zi's tenacity earns her the acceptance of Aunty Jing the reclusive actress with family issues and not a trip to the police station. If she was that friendly, why didn't she just call her son, old people have too much pride, but I digress. After some stoking from Tian Xing filming begins in earnest. After a trip to the hospital, Aunt Jing long lost son and family arrive, a touching advert is filmed and shit gets happy. As a result, offers pour in and the future of Oz advertising is looking bright thanks to Tian Xing/Xiao Lu.
What I enjoy in this show is watching Tian Xing/Xiao Lu's expressions as he scrambles and helter-skelters about and his relationship with his butler that almost borders on a psychic connection. It gives the character depth as a person in addition to their words. Tao Zi si just wah! ya! hey! I suppose she's a place holder so nothing interesting here.
Sidebar: I find that make up the women are wearing too obvious, their necks and chest are tanned and their face is white with that too much liquid foundation look to them. Is it too much to ask that they either preferably use foundation closer to their skin colour or just drag some of the pale shit down to their chest?
