7 Captured by my Stomach:

‘You’re on time.’

‘Er, yes.’ I was thinking of scoping out the lay of the land outside the back door, but my shallow thoughts were seen through. There were many trees planted along the road, and Lucas was hiding beside one of them.

I realised something; I could never escape from this person.

I couldn’t see our other colleagues, so I approached carefully while pretending to be going home alone.

‘Did you get back okay?’ he asked when I neared him.

‘Yes, thank you for your help.’

‘Good.’

It seemed he had been worried about this afternoon. But since I was in time to see the last-minute applicant, I was able to pass the permit approval without any issues.

He casually put his hand about my waist and let me to the Grall horse called Growl. It was an eight-legged beast known for its immense speed.

‘Are you hungry?’ he asked.

‘So-so.’

‘I have been preparing for this all afternoon, so don’t hesitate to eat your fill.’

‘You cook?’ I asked incredulously.

‘Yeah. I make a delicious stewed Pigelem wild pork.’

Wow, the brigade commander’s home cooking? I’m sure it’s nothing sophisticated, but I definitely wanted to try his cooking. Lucas lifted me onto the horse, before getting up behind me. Although there was difference in our body sized it wasn’t uncomfortable to be held.

It was very strange that I felt rather comfortable. If I thought about this too deeply, I might actually…nope, let’s not go there yet!

‘Don’t be nervous.’

‘Your hand in a strange place.’

‘Your waist is so slender; it feels like I would break you if I put too much force.’ He said, so he had decided to place them on my hips. I fitted comfortably between his legs, and had no choice but to lean against him. If I didn’t relax the horse would get skittish.

‘Mira.’

‘Yes?’

‘Can you say something? If not, you can sing.’

He got the horse into a canter as we went down the street. The hoofbeats against the cobbled streets and the subtle rocking made me drowsy, so I doubted what I heard.

Sing? Why would I sing?

‘Are you sleepy?’ I asked tentatively, turning my head to look up at him. I didn’t want to be involved in an accident. If he was tired, why didn’t we gallop to the destination.

‘I’m not sleepy. I just find your voice so soothing. I always want to hear you.’

‘That’s the first time I’ve ever been told that.’ I replied shyly, looking away from him.

‘Your voice is why Geist and I calmed down that night. A sweet angelic tone.’ He said wistfully.

I remembered the blunder of the night in mortification, calling him “Beast-chan”. How could I baby-talk a grown man!

Lucas, do you have strange hobbies?’

‘Lucas?’

‘Hm?’

‘Are we going to your home?’

‘It’s a bit of an exaggeration to call it a home. We’re headed to my family’s small castle outside the city.’

‘Do you live alone?’

‘It’s not a dormitory.’

Alarm bells were ringing in my head. It was home cooking after all, and you would eat it in a house right? I hadn’t thought to deeply because I was hungry, but suddenly, I realised we were going to be by ourselves.

Lucas held me close. I had been pulling away from him. I was grateful that the spring breeze blowing was cool, but I wonder why I had to be so close. I didn’t know what to expect from this visit.

I couldn’t speak anymore, so I rocked along with the horse as we rode through the city under the red-gold light of sunset.

It felt good to see Mira enjoy my cooking.

The wild pork had lost it excess fat during winter, so the taste of the lean meat was very strong. I stewed with aromatic herbs, spices and spring vegetables. It was quite nice, if I could say so myself.

‘Hmm, delicious!’ she said with barely concealed pleasure.

‘There’s still bread left.’

‘Yes, please. You’re such a good cook, Lucas.’

Mira liked the food. Before we got to my house, I had been nervous. But when we entered, the scent of the slow cooking stew permeated the building.

Thank you, Uncle, for teaching me the best way to capture people’s hearts is through their stomachs. It was very effective. (Zuben: I can attest to this)

I watched as Mira opened her mouth to another meaty spoonful, and chew mogumogu with a happy face. Eating with her is fun. I usually have dinner with the other men in the brigade, but now it’s Mira eating my food. It was fun. I am happy I cooked. (Zuben: And you shall continue to cook!)

‘The wild pigs are classed as vermin this time of the year. When we hunt them, we get good quality meat.’ (Zuben: Kill 10 pigs to level up.)

‘You killed it during hunting?’

‘Do you like it? I can tell you how to make it.’

‘I definitely want to know, but getting the meat might be difficult.’

‘Don’t worry, I’ll hunt it for you.’

‘Wow!’

Had she been caught? I didn’t want her to be taken by another man, but I couldn’t deny the feeling that I was pushing too hard so she wouldn’t escape. (Zuben: if this were real life, she would have japka!) And there was still the danger that that premature ejaculation man might want a reconciliation, and there were the brigade members that I know like her.

It wasn’t a first come first served situation, but I had to grab her heart so tightly, she wouldn’t see anyone else.

She finished her food.

‘How about dessert?’ I asked, tempting her more.

Mira’s eyes twinkled.

She really had beautiful indigo eyes.

I was also refraining from alcohol today, because of the first time we met and had sex, she was drunk. But I was going to get her drunk on something else.

She was so mysterious, this woman named Mira Fair River. It was probably why I was so attracted to her.

Not to mention our bodies were so compatible. The more I knew the more I wanted her.

I quickly cleaned up the table and placed my speciality dessert before her.

She gasped in delight, ‘Cute! Looks delicious!’

‘It’s strawberries in plenty of clotted cream drizzled with sweet dew.’ (Zuben: Kinda like an eton mess?)

‘Is this also a staple of the brigade?’ she asked.

I didn’t answer. Instead, I scooped the strawberries in cream and brought the spoon to her mouth.

‘Open up.’

‘I can eat it myself.’

‘I made it for you, so I want to feed you and know what you think.’

Mira looked from the spoonful to me and back again. When she was about to open her mouth, she stopped herself.

She was so cute.

Such sweet and sour switches, I never thought I would experience the like. Well, it’s innocent and really cute.

‘If you don’t eat, I’ll take it away.’

‘Wait…I’ll eat. I want to eat it.’ She said quickly, but she was blushing. She opened her mouth and I pushed the spoon in slowly, taking more time than necessary. Her face fluttered. I’m sure it’s because I am smiling like a besotted fool.

‘Delicious,’ she said.

When the next spoonful came, she was more willing. But each time her lips surrounded the strawberry, before she began to chew, my lower body got hot. The colour of the strawberry was just like her nipples when she was aroused. She was slender, but with a full bosom. It felt nice to touch.

‘Hm, it’s spilling.’

Was this on purpose, Mira Fair River?! The clear sweet dew dripped from the edge of her pink lips. Why are you licking it with your tongue? Am I been tested?’

Please, praise me for continuing to feed you with a quivering hand, driven by the urge. My thread of reason, is about to break. (Zuben: were you also not praised enough as a child?)

‘That was a feast, everything was delicious.’

‘If you’re good, I’ll make it again.’

She chuckled, ‘How much do you want to have a grandma?’ she said without thinking. She stiffened when she realised what she had said.

‘I don’t mind if it’s your grandma.’

‘That’s just a turn of phrase, don’t take it seriously.’ She said nervously.

‘Why not?’

I did want to get married eventually.

But thinking of it, the way we met was so shocking, she didn’t remember. The difference in perception of the situation might diminish my chances. She’s probably wondering why I am so aggressive in my pursuit.

‘Mira.’

‘Yes?’

‘I forgot I have finished telling you everything that happened that night.’

Was it that my ego really wanted her to remember?

‘Didn’t you come here because you wanted to know?’

Of course, I had forgotten about the poor female chase wolfe. However, if a woman comes to a single man’s house alone, he has a little expectation.

‘Lucas.’

‘I will tell you the rest of the tale,’ and I will teach you slowly, just like that night.

8 A small, greedy wish

The sour taste of the strawberries lingered in my mouth along with a thick sweetness.

What happened between Lucas and I before we ended up in bed? I wanted to know but I was also a bit afraid to know.

What was I afraid of?

‘After Geist calmed down,’ he began, ‘he was still strange, so we took him to the stables outside the ramparts.’

‘I don’t remember at all.’

‘You were crying the whole time, I carried you.’

Lucas rose from his seat and came round to my side. He pulled my chair back and made me stand. When I hesitated, he ran his fingers from my waist to my neck. Chills spread through my body; it was pleasure not discomfort. Contrary to my will, my body remembered the pleasure and was aching in anticipation.

My body tingled as his fingers moved back and forth. It wasn’t ticklish so I couldn’t fool him with laugher. I wanted to protest, but I thought if I did that I would fall into his hands. (Zuben: You’re already there)

I bit my lips to endure.

‘Mira, if you bite your lips so much, you’ll cut yourself.’

‘Well, that why…hmm~’ Why did it feel so good when he touched my flank. Wasn’t it supposed to be ticklish?

‘Your clothes were torn in the altercation with Geist, right?’ I asked trying to distract myself. I was terrified that I had ripped his clothes.

‘Well, most of it was Geist, you did the rest.’

‘Crap, the unexpected truth.’ I said, dropping my head on to the table.

‘Are you upset?’

‘I am, I was so indignant.’

Lucas stroked my back, looking worried. But the fingertip attack had stopped, I had won the battle. But why did I feel that Lucas was playing with me?’

‘I don’t care, it was so torn, it couldn’t be saved anyway.’

‘I’m sorry I attacked you because I was drink and in heat.’

‘It wasn’t exactly that.’ He said softly, he leaned over to look in my eyes.

‘You didn’t want to go home; you were crying that you didn’t want to be alone in your apartment. You said everything had been touched by your ex, and he cheated with some young, cute girl who he got pregnant. You insulted him, calling him stingy, with a weak chin, and he had erectile dysfunction.’

‘I talked too much. I see.’

How drunk was I to tell a stranger I had only just met all these things?

‘I couldn’t leave you alone, so I brought you here.’

‘Here?!’

That’s a lie. It wasn’t a cheap resting inn? I did think the area looked familiar, and there was that 24-hour alchemist down the road. Lucas’ house is huge. The corridor was long, and wide and there were many rooms.

‘I thought I’ll just get you to sleep.’

‘But I didn’t sleep.’ I vaguely remembered, I was insistent on something, arguing to relieve my anger. It wasn’t a dream; I was talking to Lucas.

How embarrassing.

‘Do you remember I told you I was going to find your ex, and cut him into little pieces? I asked for his address.’

I sat up with wide eyes. He didn’t go and chop up Chris, did he? He was probably beast food now!

‘Did you go…and dismember him?’

He laughed, ‘You stopped me before I could leave. You asked if I was going be the worst kind of bastard.’

‘Oh good. I am touched, but you don’t need to be a bad guy.’

‘You said the same that night.’

‘Eh? Oh!’ He casually picked me up, and threw me over his shoulder like baggage.

‘Why this position?’

‘I carried you like this.’

Why wasn’t it a princess carry? Hey, do you see me as baggage?!

Lucas went deeper into the house as I fluttered my arms. Oh! That vase looks familiar. This was Lucas’ house? We came here? I didn’t look properly because I was making an escape, but wasn’t there a reception desk. No, I left the money at the bedside table.

‘Ah! Ah…’ though he carried me like baggage, he placed me on the bed gently.

‘Oh! I remember this room.’

‘You told me you wanted to forget such man. And the next time you fell for someone, you wanted someone who loved you only, and you will love them only.’

I couldn’t move, even though he was on top of me, he wasn’t holding me down. He sighed, and I could smell the strawberries we had been eating. As he leaned down to lick my lips, I wondered if I would taste strawberries when we kissed.

‘Your wish is also my wish.’ He said before kissing me. His kissed my cheeks and nose and brow; I couldn’t move because I was fascinated. He was looking at me as though he was in love. If he made such a face, I would have expectations.

Maybe, I didn’t want to move.

‘Be the only one in my lover’s life. Please don’t laugh, I know I sound like a dreamy romantic.’

‘I’m not laughing. I think it is wonderful.’

Though I smiled, I thought it was nice. I wouldn’t have thought a person like Lucas would have maidenly romantic aspirations.

Lucas rubbed his nose against mine. It like the chase wolfe courtship behaviour.

‘My intuition told me that it would come true with you.’ He said looking deeply at me. I could see heat in his blue eyes. If I was careless I would be trapped.

‘Mira, be my lover?’

‘You’re popular.’

‘Same can be said for you.’

‘Did you forget I just broke up?’

‘I’m sorry to take advantage of that, but I have a principle not to miss an opportunity.’ Lucas said as he gently stroked my face. His body was so large, I should feel intimidated, but instead, I felt a sense of security.

‘I know you’re wary because I am too pushy. Forgive me.’

I’m sure I have the right to decide. But if I refuse to say anything now, he would pull me.

Sly person.

I held his head in my hand. His prickly hair poked my fingers. I remembered I hugged his head many times that night.

‘I don’t know much about you.’

‘I don’t know much about you either, but I want to know.’

‘But with the break up…could we take it slow?’

‘I want to make you mine as soon as possible. Otherwise, other men would be sniffing around.’ He said as he rubbed his pelvis against my thighs suggestively. He could feel his throbbing excitement. I could remember the shock and pleasure when he entered me, and I was getting wet.

Lucas’ eyes glimmered as he put his hand between my legs.

‘Give me a chance. Please, Mira,’ he whispered against my lips.

Once I accepted those lips, I could not go back anymore. Could I really accept him? Did I want him?

I didn’t have the excuse of alcohol or estrus, but I couldn’t help but want Lucas. There was a rising need for him within me.

‘No cheating – absolutely.’

‘You will be the only one.’

‘We’re on a trial period.’

‘I will do my best to capture your heart.’ He vowed looking directly into my eyes.

Alas, I am vulnerable to his blue eyes.

I kissed him myself as proof of consent. As soon as out lips met, it was like a match was lit and we kissed each other hungrily. I put my hands around his back wanting to feel him against me more.

This is why large beasts are sly, they can use puppy eyes to catch you not letting you abandon them.
