Do Not Reconcile 51 - 52
51 The Truth 2:
Nanyu only knew
what happened after the incident. Huo Mu had called the family house and asked
them to come to the hospital.
When they got there,
he found Guanguan lying on a hospital bed, comatose. Huo Mo knelt before them
crying, telling them of what had happened. He took all responsibility. If
hadn’t been that he loved her so much; she wouldn’t have ended up in such a
predicament. He had brought darkness to her. It was all his fault.
Madam Jin had
been so shocked she fell into a dead faint. But when he finished the tale of
what had happened; it turned out that Guanguan had been saved in time. She was
relieved.
That fateful day
had been Huo Mu’s birthday, and Guanguan had gone to his mother and
stepfather’s place to meet him so they could spend the day together.
She waited for
him at the front of the apartment building, and sent him a text, but after a
while he didn’t come down. She called him but his number was engaged.
Guanguan decided
to go to the flat to see if Huo Mu was in.
The door was
ajar, so she entered without knocking. Huo Mu was not there, but his step
father Zhao Xin was.
He had only
married Huo Mu’s mother two months prior; he apparently had not held Wang
Xuemei’s past against her, he had insisted on marrying her. Because, Xuemei had
never held a conventional job, she had no experience to find work, hence, she
chose to be a housewife.
There was on one
else in the flat. Xuemei had gone to the market. Zhao Xin was drinking when she
entered, he looked drunk as he stared at her. Leering at her long legs under
the short dress she had worn that day.
‘Shushu, where
is Huo Mu? We were supposed to meet today to go out.’ She asked politely. She
always found herself nervous when he was around.
But Zhao Xin
didn’t reply, he merely got up and approached her and shut the door behind her
– locking it.
Guanguan was
taken aback, she quickly reached for the door to leave, but he grabbed her
white tender hand and said lecherously, ‘Aren’t you just looking for a man to
do it with to make you feel good? I’ll do you. I’ll make you feel good.’
His breath
reeked of alcohol making Guanguan break out in goosebumps of disgust. Guanguan
tried to push him away and pull her arm from his grip, but she was no match for
an older man. He grabbed her and threw her on the sofa.
He got on top of
her spraying his alcohol laden breath on her and shoved his hand between her
soft thighs.
Today was the
day he was going to have her. He had watched her come to see Huo Mu and had
immediately lusted after her, imagining all the ways he wanted to fuck her.
He snorted in
satisfaction at the feel of her skin, ‘Little girl, just look at you. You’re so
luscious with white tender legs, you feel so good to the touch. But lets get a
good look inside you; did you wear panties? It is better to fuck a little girl
who doesn’t wear panties.’
His disgusting
words shocked Guanguan, she never imagined such a thing would happen to her.
She began to cry and fight him, trying to kick him, but he quickly took control
of her legs.
Her tears merely
inflamed his animalistic desire; he liked seeing this little slut cry. He
leaned down to kiss her neck.
‘Help!’ Guanguan
shouted, ‘someone help me! This man is trying to rape me! Help me!’ She cried.
‘You can shout
all you want, but there is no one at home in this building. No one would come
to your rescue. Be a good girl and open your legs, shushu will give you a big
cock. There is no need for a little slut like you to pretend. You are happy
when Huo Mu fucks you, aren’t you? Shushu’s cock is bigger, you’ll be more
comfortable and know what it is like to be fucked by a real big one.’
As he finished
speaking, he rose to pull down his trousers to expose his penis.
Huo Mu had
returned and he had heard Guanguan’s cry.
He had left home
early that morning for an errand. His phone’s battery died so he hadn’t been
able to inform Guanguan. When he returned he didn’t see Guanguan waiting for
him but he heard her shout.
He ran up in a
panic, his hands trembling as he unlocked the door.
He was presented
with the disgusting tableau when he opened the door.
He saw red,
immediately rushing forward to drag Zhao Xin off Guanguan and punched him. Fury
filled his mind as he punched the older man desperately. He wanted to beat him
to death.
Zhao Xin held
his hands up to ward off the blows, the murderous rage in Huo Mu’s eyes struck
fear in him. He hadn't expected Huo Mu to arrive so soon. But now all he could
think of was escaping so he wouldn’t be killed.
Huo Mu got off
him and marched to the kitchen to grab a kitchen knife, while Zhao Xin got up
and tried to run away.
Guanguan stared
in shock at fear at the scene. She watched as Huo Mu caught the older man and
slashed at his back with the knife. She fainted. He chased Zhao Xin to the
stairwell, slashing at him.
Zhao Xin in his
fear took a misstep and fell down the stairs.
Just then,
Xuemei returned from the market, not expecting to see her new husband fall down
the stairs at her feet, bloodied.
Huo Mu threw the
knife aside and went to get Guanguan. He lifted her gently and carried her out
of the building ignoring his mother and her injured husband.
Xuemei was so
terrified, she called the police and the ambulance.
When Guanguan
woke up from her coma, she didn’t remember a thing. She asked why she was in
the hospital with Huo Mu and her family looking sombre.
Nanyu took the
lead in comforting her; he told her she had fainted and Huo Mu had brought her
to the hospital.
The doctor
informed them that it was selective amnesia. She had seen a shocking thing,
something she wanted to forget happened.
Huo Mu had
begged her family not to tell her what happened.
After he broke
up with Guanguan, he turned himself into the police.
🌗
Guanguan
couldn’t stop crying, she chocked and sobbed feeling like she was drowning.
She looked at
her brother in tearful anger, ‘Why didn’t you tell me? Didn’t you think I had a
right to know?! He was in jail all this time and it was because of me! He was
defending me, why did he have to go to jail?! Why did you allow it? If you had
told me I would have tried to help him; and then he wouldn’t have ended up so
miserably.’
Lu Rao came out
of the room, she must have been listening, ‘Guanguan, your brother really
helped him without his knowledge. Do you really think that with what happened
to Zhao Xin, he wouldn’t have ended up in jail for life or sentenced to death?
And even so, he was sentenced to five years because Zhao Xin didn’t die, but he
was released in three. We didn’t tell you because Huo Mu himself pleaded and
begged us not to, and we didn’t want you to remember such a traumatic thing.’
Guanguan was too
upset, she didn’t want to listen anymore, so she got up angrily and ran away.
Nanyu wanted to
go after her, but Lu Rao stopped him, ‘She’s grown up now; she needs sort this
out for herself. Call Huo Mu and let him know. He’s the only one who can ease
her guilt now.’
🌗
Huo Mu rushed
back to his apartment after the call from Nanyu, nearly getting in a traffic
accident. He had called her phone the whole way back home but she did not pick
up. When he got home, he found her sobbing on the floor in their bedroom.
He picked her up
and carried her to bed, and embraced her.
‘It’s okay,
silly girl. It’s over. Don’t think about it.’
Guanguan had
felt so guilty but his comforting words made her feel even more so. She sobbed
harder.
‘Huo Mu, let’s
break up. I don’t want to be with you.’
52 Stay with me:
Huo Mu wiped her
tears with one hand as he stroked her hiccupping body with the other.
‘Tell me why you
want to break up? If I don’t like your reason, then I would not agree.’
Hearing his
words, she cried more. She did not try to look good; her nose was runny, her
face was red and her eyes were swollen; the sight made his heart hurt.
‘How can you
still ask me why I want to break up with you? It was me who ruined your future.
If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have gone to jail! Do you still want to lie
to me about this? You went to jail because of me! Yes, your Zhao Xin caused
this, but if I hadn’t been there, it wouldn’t have happened and you wouldn’t
have gone to jail!’ she between chocked sobbed.
Huo Mu took
tissues from the bedside table and tried to dry her wet face.
‘That is an
insufficient reason, so I will not break up with you.’ He told her softly, ‘Why
don’t you make it up to me instead? By staying with me forever, marrying me,
and giving me cute babies. Don’t you think this kind of remedy is better?’
‘There is
nothing for you to feel guilty about. In truth, I feel so apologetic to you, if
I didn’t want you by my side all the time, you would not have suffered such a
thing. You were the victim. Please don’t cry anymore. When you cry, my heart
aches.’
Guanguan hated
him so much; how could he say such sweet things. She cried until no more tears
came out and reached out to hug him.
‘Huo Mu, I’m so
sorry! I don’t want to break up with you. I want to be with you, have babies
and get married. I don’t want to miss you anymore. You’re mine, and you have to
be mine for the rest of your life.’
‘Yes.’ He
replied happily, stroking her head and holding her tenderly.
🌕
Huo Mu took
Guanguan home after she hurt her ankle. After then, their interaction grew
warmer and she continued to chase him happily every day.
New born calves
are not afraid of tigers; Guanguan went to the class teacher and for the seats
to be reassigned so she could go back to sitting with Huo Mu. She told her that
she could only study seriously beside Huo Mu, and since the teacher and her
mother were friends, she was placed back beside Huo Mu.
Shu Lin packed
her things angrily. She could do nothing about the change, so she begrudgingly
went back to her original seat. Although, Huo Mu was still taciturn, his manner
was not as cold.
Wen Jiu, her
mom’s friend’s son, came to see Guanguan again. Since, they were family
friends, she felt it was rude to ignore him. But after hanging out a few times,
she realised that he may like her.
‘Wen Jiu, you
shouldn’t come so often. Although we know each other well, I don’t want people
to misunderstand and gossip and the guy I like gets wind of it.’
Wen Jiu smiled
in understanding, ‘Alright, I wouldn’t visit again. Since you like another
person, I’ve already failed. But can I give you a hug?’ (Zuben: No. Why? Just want to feel up them boobs, eh?))
He didn’t wait
for her to agree before he pulled her into the hug. After he let go, she
suddenly felt a cold gaze behind her. She looked back to see Huo Mu glaring at
them. The situation turned a bit awkward.
She was suddenly
afraid that Huo Mu would misunderstand, just as she had told Wen Jiu. She tried
to talk to him, but he ran off.
For the rest of
the day, he ignored her. Treating her as though she were air.
She waited until
school was over and tried to talk to him again.
But he shouted
at her, ‘Jin Guanguan, don’t follow me around anymore. I will not be your spare
tire! If you want to pedal two boats, go find someone else.’
She was taken
aback by his outburst, but she grabbed his hand and tried to explain softly,
‘I’m really not like that, you’ve misunderstood. I really like you that’s why
I’ve been chasing you. I am not dating Wen Jiu. Please don’t misunderstand.’
Huo Mu scoffed,
‘Is this how you women are? You say you’re being serious when you’re two
timing? Not in a relationship? You were hugging! You chase me on one hand and
stay with him on the other? Your love is cheap!’
Guanguan was so hurt by his words, she burst out crying, ‘How could you say that? I’ve liked you so long, chased you for so long, and because of a hug you conclude I am a floozy? Huo Mu, you’re a bastard!’ (Zuben: Yup!)

Thank you Zuben for the chapter; I just recently found this website that has so many novels for one to enjoy💕
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was just wondering if you choose to translated novels based only on your personal preference or would you offer your audience to request novels for you to translate?
You're free to recommend but don't be disappointed if it's a no. I have many peeves, so I really have to like it, or at least be strongly intruiged, before I do recommendations. Look at it this way, if I pick a book and I begin to hate it or get bored with it in the middle, as I usually do, then I have no one to blame but myself. But if I do a recommendation, is the "recommender" prepared for my months long resentement filled commentary?
DeleteI’m confused by the abrupt shift from the present to the past. And why do we need to see more of their past?
ReplyDeleteZuben sama!!!! I found you back after a long long time T_T might you still have discord invites available? I so wish to read some novels and I would never share anything outside pleaseeee 🥺🙏
ReplyDeleteThanks for the translation ❤️
