Run, boy, run!:
In order to save his chastity, Haocheng
took advantage of the lively commotion outside during the auction; he smashed a
vase over his old guard, stole his clothes and snuck through the crowd and
quickly escaped the Hall.
But he needed to explain how he got
trapped in this horrid place!
The reason was simple - a plane crash.
Haha! Was that dog-blood enough?! (Zuben: I know dog-blood means melodrama,
keep it moving)
He had won a grand prize of a flight
to Paris; he had taken his older sister and her best friend with him.
As the plane fell to its demise, his
sister strangled his neck cursing him!
Please! Was it his fault the plane
crashed? Did he will the plane to crash? Did he not cherish his own life?!
However, he did not those words. It was
useless to say anymore. Haocheng faced death open-mindedly. He died.
Who would have guessed that he did not
die, but woke up in this strange place in the body of a weak chicken? Even
though he was an open-minded person, for a moment, he was stunned silly.
Especially, when there was an old hen
next to him.
The old hen’s face had make up so
thick it looked like wall plaster. The old hen had a hand on her waist barking
at him, saying he should not even think of killing himself, with the silver she
had spent on him, even if he went before the King, she will drag him back.
Haocheng could not understand what she
was saying, he just watched her mouth wondering; with such thick powder, wasn’t
she afraid of it cracking and pouring off her face?
Later from a little servant boy, he
found out what was going on.
The owner of the body was named Hao
Yue, at the age of ten; he had been sold to the hall. Now he was eighteen. The
Aunt, that is, the old hem, thought Hao Yue uncharacteristically handsome. He
would be a cash cow in the future. She spent a lot of money training him in
calligraphy, chess and painting. When he was fourteen, she began to let him
take on customers. In a short month, Hao Yue became the most popular courtesan
in the Hall. Many rich men wanted to him to attend to them, many more wanted to
buy his first night.
The savvy old hen decided to auction
his first time when he turned eighteen.
Hao Yue could not accept this reality,
he fruitlessly resisted, and then finally, he hung himself and died, at that
point Jiang Haocheng was put inside him.
But, what the hell was this? Many
others transmigrated into emperors, heroes - why did he have to get a xiaoguan?! Moreover, a prostitute about
to lose his virginity! He only won a prize, and him, his sister, and Du Miaofu,
that unlucky devil, ended up dying together; was it necessary to do this to
him? (Zuben: The gods must be crazy)
During the crash, his older sister had
grabbed his neck and screamed, ‘Jiang Haocheng! This old woman curses you, I
will not let you die-!’
Haocheng could not help but shake his
head; we had been in the same boat, wasn’t the old lady’s curse taking it too
far?
Making him become a weak chicken, a
little shou- with a face so beautiful
he was captivated by himself - could his elder sister’s curse be worthy of the
Jiang ancestors?
Realising that he had transmigrated
into this weakling body, he was devastated. Why wasn’t he just killed? Was it
necessary to do this to him? He was just as much a victim as his old lady; did his
sister need to curse him?
Damn it! Should he meet his older
sister again, he would complain his blood and tears. Haocheng never considered
that he might never see his sister again. With his single-celled optimistic
brain, he decided that if he had transmigrated, then his sister and Miaofu must
have too!
So, he wasn’t sad. He was only in
shock that he was now a weakling and his small chrysanthemum was in danger.
How could he let himself be pushed
down by a man, he was the one to be pushing people down! Puh! Bah! Bah! He
spat. He, Jiang Haocheng, liked only women. He was not interested in men with
the same thing as he had. (Zuben: What about men who didn’t or women who did?)
So now, Haocheng knew what he was
facing, even if he had no idea where the hell this ghost place called Shengyuan
Dynasty was - how could he have any idea?! He knew of the Yuan, the Tang, the
Qing, but he had never heard of the Shengyuan Dynasty!
It did not matter, what was most
imperative at this point in time was to protect his chastity!
So he had to escape, of course!
But since the suicide attempt, the old
hen has been guarding him closely. Wherever he went, he was watched by someone.
Even the young boy who served him was guarding him.
Plus, the people guarding him knew he
had no power. His guard was stout, twice as strong as he was. Even though, once
upon a time, he was the invincible boss, his arm was now like a chicken claw.
Can read a book, and paint fluttering butterflies, can play the lute, but hit
people? Forget it!
Despite his lack of intellect, in the
face of his current crisis, Boss Jiang was very aware of his limitations. So to
ensure his escape, he could only lay in wait till the when the banquet hall was
most relaxed and distracted, which would be at the auction.
When he felt the time was right, he
hid behind the door with a large vase and screamed in his room, causing the
guard to run in, and he slammed the vase on the guard’s head.
Ugh! A manly man like himself doing
this kind of womanly attack was egregious!
He stripped his guard’s clothes, tied
him up and stuffed cloth in his mouth. Haocheng put on the guards oversize
clothes. He cut his waist length hair short.
Hey! Don’t underestimate him; he had
been a famous hairstylist in New York. He could not count how many ladies
queuing up for make appointments with him. Sometimes, he worked backstage in
catwalk shows, designing the models’ hair. He had been very famous in the
fashion industry.
In ten short minutes, he cut a
flattering hairstyle for Hao Yue that showed him as handsome, rather than
beautiful; dissing the sissy appearance. He took out the charcoal he had hidden
and smeared his face with it. He put on a hat, and slipped out the door. He
kept his head bowed, avoiding the crowds and slipped out the back door.
Just as he got outside, he heard
someone back inside shout, and then there was a loud commotion from the crowd.
Haocheng knew he had been discovered.
He ran desperately, dodging here and
there so that the crowd could hide him but he could still hear shouting behind
him! Haocheng was shocked; these legs were too short. He had thought he had run
so well, what a weakling body!!
Haocheng was out of breath, his legs
were soft but he did not dare stop. He turned down an alley; ran east, ran
west, and then found himself back at a dead end ❌! He was lost!
Looking at the dead end before him, he
bent over hands on his knees, gasping for breath. His legs were shaking from
the exertion. His heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest; he
swallowed as he leaned against a wall panting, his blood pulsing through his
veins.
Looking down at his trembling legs, he
was sure he could no longer run. He really could not say anything about this
weakling body he had inherited. And he was also well and truly lost. He really
could not be blamed for this, he was not familiar with this city, and he had
just wanted to shake off his chasers.
While he was sure that he was safe for
now, he could not stay here forever, the people knew the city well, sooner or
later he would be found; he had to escape from the city.
But, ‘Damn it, where the hell is
this?” Haocheng looked around him, but there was no light. The alley was in
darkness, and he had forgotten where he had come from.
What should he do? Should he go out
and take his chances?
Haocheng hesitated; he was afraid he
would run into his pursuers. With his current situation, that was a very likely
possibility.
While he was thinking, he heard a
voice, ‘Search this area, he could be hiding here!’
What the hell? How were they so quick?
Did this men have dogs’ noses?!
Seeing the light of the torch creeping
closer, Haocheng looked left and right anxiously but could not think of an
escape route. He could hear the footsteps getting closer, so he decided to hide
deeper in the alley.
What should he do? He fretted, he will
definitely be discovered!
He crouched down and crept backwards
into the alley, when he sudden stepped on something soft; something that did
not feel like ground.
❌He couldn’t be so luckless, could
he?
He closed his eyes and took a deep
breath; he had nothing to say, even if a dog barked he wasn’t in the mood to
care.
‘You’re stepping on me.’
‘Huh?’ Poop can talk too? Was this
world that divine?! Haocheng looked down to see what kind of godly poop was
speaking to him, but he found a pair of glowing green lights.
In a dark abandoned alley, eerie green
light, cold gloomy voice...Haocheng’s heart froze
‘Ghost!’ he shouted.
Chewing on her dried hard jerky, she
had heard running footsteps, and then this person broke into the alley,
panting.
He had not seen her sitting in the
corner, but she had seen him clearly. Darkness did not affect her eyesight in
any way.
Listening to the dainty footfalls, she
decided this person was no threat to her. They had painted their face with coal
but the narrow eyes were very beautiful, a lithe body, but he was no better
than an ant. This boy was weak, vulnerable…and not worthy of her attention. She
bit into the dried meat, she should just close her eyes to unnecessary things,
she had always been a lackadaisical person...but, she continued to watch him.
For the first time, eyes that had
always been quiet and unwavering were questioning, perhaps, a bit curious.
It was the first time she had seen
many expressions flit across a person’s face. He frowned, gritted his teeth,
and his eyes glistened with water; was he going to cry?
‘Damn it! Where the hell is this?’
Instead of crying, he had grit his
teeth and looked around. She heard more footsteps approaching. When he heard
them, he suddenly became nervous.
Were the people coming after him?
He began to creep backward in her
direction, but she did not move from her position. The people’s footsteps got
closer and she felt his tension mount. Then he stepped on her hand. She didn’t
say anything, she didn’t even wrinkle her brows, but he looked to the heavens
in grief...he seemed to be bemoaning his circumstances.
‘You’re stepping on me.’ She hadn’t
even realised at when she spoke out. She couldn’t help but be surprised, then
she saw his horror.
‘Ghost!’
She wasn’t surprised by his fear, but
her expression remained cold, she showed no expression. She looked at him
blankly, as he jumped back against the all, his lips trembling in dread.
Haocheng’s shout drew his pursuers to
his location. The guards spread through the alleys with their lanterns. The
light illuminated the dark alley; the sudden light caused his eyes to sting.
But even though his eyes were stinging, he was still in front of the ghost, and
then...his eyes rounded
This ghost...was she a mixed race
woman?
Her features were deeper than the
people of this dynasty, her skin was whiter than the people of this dynasty,
and her eyes were bright glowing green. Her hair was black, long and
straight...she was pretty.
She was by no means a stunning beauty,
though. Haochang could say his standards of beauty were very high and strict.
His dead mother was a beautiful woman, his violent elder sister looked like a
sexy mistress, and then his salon customers; eight out of ten were beautiful
women. And then this Hao Yue was also an enchanting boy. In contrast, this
mixed race ghost was very ordinary compared to him. (Zuben: Is now really the
time to compare beauty? I suppose he has nowhere else to run)
Boss Jiang was inexplicably pleased
with himself: although he was a weakling, his face was really eye-catching!
(Zuben: What a time to accept that you’re a bishounen)
Haocheng touched his own face
narcissistically; his idiot head did not think about his current predicament.
But the guards of the Xiaoying Pavillion will not allow him to ignore them.
‘Found you, boy! Let me see how much
you can run!’ A large man said through gritted teeth touching his head, ‘You
dared to break the head of this old boss, bitch, I’ll teach you a lesson!’
The completely ignored the woman
sitting in the corner. She also hung her head and continued to eat her jerky.
The guards did not notice that her eyes were different from other people’s
eyes.
Fuck! He was finished!
Haocheng was in a dilemma; behind him
was a dead end. He did not think he could really escape the three guards who
looked like bears. Looking at the big brother he had knocked unconscious with
the vase, he was the dark look the man had on his face and knew he was dead.
What should he do?
Watching them approach, Haocheng
stared down at his slender wrists; it looked like he could only give up.
He gritted his teeth. He looked up to
the guards and burst into tears, his slender body trembling,
‘No, don’t hurt me...I’ll go back with
you...don’t hit me…’
Jiang Haocheng oh Jiang Haocheng, you
will make even a bear cry!
With a cowering countenance, he walked
slowly to the guards.
Seeing him yield, the guard sneered,
‘You’re smart.’
When he came close to them, the guard
forcefully grabbed his arm. How could he predict that Haocheng would suddenly
grab his wrist, this stunned the guard. Then a sharp pain made him cry out, he
bent over in pain.
Haocheng quickly lifted his legs, with
speed and accuracy, he mercilessly used all the strength he could muster and
shot his knee into the bodyguard’s crotch.
Though he was weak, but was as long as
you hit the right places, it will hurt.
‘Oh…!’ the bodyguard feel to the
ground groaning in pain.
The sudden happenings made the other
two guards stared in amazement. They stared at their colleague, stunned. While
they were distracted, Haocheng made a break for it.
But his legs were weak, just that kick
took all his remaining strength. He only ran a few steps before he was caught
by the other two.
‘Bad boy!’ The guards said as they
grabbed his clothes and dragged him back.
‘Ah!’ he cried as he was slammed into
the wall. His thin and weak body shrank and he withstood the pain in his back.
‘You fucking kicked me! Courting
death!’ the attacked guard shouted as he got up from the ground, and lifted his
leg to kick Haocheng.
Haocheng covered his head with his
hands and curled his body protectively.
‘Ah ah ah-!’ he heard a miserable
scream as warm liquid sprayed on him followed by the thick scent of blood.
He turned to look and he saw his
assailant rolling on the ground his leg had been cut and blood was spurting
out. The other two guards stared in shock.
Haocheng saw a pair of legs before him
and he raised his head. The bright moon that had been hidden behind the clouds
appeared illuminating the figure in red.
Her skin was snow white contrasting
sharply with her cold green eyes, her lips were pale with no hint of fullness.
Her face held no expression. Her long straight black hair fluttered in the
breeze over her red clothes. In her slender white fingers was a thin
transparent blade.
The two others looked at her eerie
green eyes were taken aback.
‘Ghost! Ghost!’
They looked at each other, turned and
ran away in fear, leaving their injured companion. The injured guard’s face
paled, and promptly fainted.
Ignoring him, she looked down at the
Haocheng; she did not understand why she had saved him. When he had protected
himself, there had been no fear in his face, but she also heard his low
muttering
‘You’re dead this time, you weak
chicken! I hate you!’
She did not understand what he was
muttering about but when she saw one of the chasers begin to kick him, she had
reacted automatically, protecting him.
Haocheng stared at her foolishly.
Go-good god! , hao - so handsome!
From his heart bubbles of love floated
out, kào! He had to take back what he had just said; where was she ordinary?
She was awesome!
It was the first time he had ever come
across such a handsome woman. His heart beat fast in his chest.
Thinking he was scared stiff by her
appearance, her expression shuttered and her face was cold. Her place of quiet
rest had been destroyed; she decided to find somewhere else. As she turned
away, she was stopped by hands around her legs. She looked down to see the boy
looking up at her with a smile.
Haocheng wanted to cry in his heart,
how could he be clinging to a woman like this? Was he still a man? Well, yes.
Alas, his legs were weak, he could not get up.
‘Hey, thank you for saving me,’ he
said holding her tighter. He decided not to let her get away, looking up at her
sparkling eyes, ‘My name is Jiang Haocheng, just call me A Hao. What’s your
name?’
Seeing his smile, she was confused,
‘Aren’t you afraid of me?’
‘What’s to be scared about?’ he asked
before remembering he had rudely called her a ghost just a few minutes ago. He
gave her an awkward smile, ‘Earlier...I didn’t mean to insult you. It was dark;
I only saw your eyes and misunderstood.’ Besides his violent old sister, he was
afraid of no one. Well, maybe...that....
When he was eight, his whole family
went to the amusement park. His sister pulled him into the haunted house. At
the start, they were holding hands, but somehow they got separated, as a
result, he was stuck in the haunted house for over an hour, crying from fear.
Eventually, the staff had to lead him out. Since then, he’d been traumatised.
‘I apologise, don’t be angry.’ he said
to her afraid she would misunderstand him, and leave him.
No way! He was going to pester her.
Why? Because she was so handsome!
Whoar! The heart of Boss Jiang was in bloom. His pure macho heart was blown
wide open.
He was in love!
‘You haven’t told me your name yet.’
He said, uncaring about her cold expression, he continued to smile at her.
Seeing him watching her expectantly,
waiting for her to speak, she could not help but be a bit sceptical; he was not
afraid of her, he even apologised for his earlier behaviour. This person was
strange. And what would knowing her name accomplish? After this, they would
never meet again. She only saved him by accident. She rarely ever moved for
such things.
But she found herself saying, ‘Ji Danning.’
Her heart could not help but be amazed, and she surprised herself even more by
adding, ‘People call me A Jiu.’
She was ninth in seniority amongst her
brothers and sisters, only those who were close to her called her A Jiu, but
she had told him. She was puzzled by her actions, although her face remained
cold, her heart was quietly tremulous.
“People” must be her family? When she
replied, A Hao was very happy; his beautiful eyes crinkled as he smiled
broadly.
‘I shall call you Xiaojiu.’ he said.
He was not going to be like everyone else!
She did not respond to his intimate
address, her cold green eyes were shaken staring at his good looking smile, she
turned away.
‘Let go.’ she said coldly.
‘Oh!’ he had regained a little
strength,, he let go of her and rose from the ground to his full height, to see
he was half a head taller than her - This discovery made him feel moved, he was
at least taller than she was, otherwise he really could not live!
Fortunately, this guy was still only eighteen;
there was still a chance to grow taller.
Haocheng comforted himself, and
decided to exercise this body well. He wasn’t expecting to be macho again, but
at the very least, not be so weak, ah!
He saw she was about to turn away, he
grabbed her sleeve, ‘Where are you going?’ he asked giving her a puppy-dog
stare.
Danning looked down at the hand
grasping her sleeve, she could have avoided it but she had not suspected that
he would try to grab her.
Her elegant barely- there eyebrows
furrowed, she could not understand this person at. Looking at his pitiful
appearance, his narrow phoenix eyes had acquired a glimmer of water.
‘Can I come with you?’ he asked
pitifully, knowing that Hao Yue looks very good in this expression. If you want
to pester people, you have to pretend to be pitiful, ‘I’m afraid they’ll come
for me again.’ He said turning to the collapsed man. He gave a little shiver.
In truth, he wanted to step on the injured foot and kick him a few times, but
the man had lost a lot of blood, he did not think that he would live for much
longer.
‘Please don’t leave me!’ With a pained
face, he pleaded, squeezing out a few tears. As for manliness, haha! What does
masculinity have to do with chasing a wife? It was more important to catch his
beloved by any means necessary.
This was the Jiang family’s ancestral
training; to woo your wife, you must be quick, accurate and most importantly,
shameless.
Looking in those watery eyes, Danning
did not speak, just stared at him, curious about what tricks he might have up
his sleeve.
Seeing that she did not reply him, he
decided to be more shameful; he hugged her and pleased, ‘Xiaojiu, please…’
Oh she smelt so nice, and soft…how
satisfying.
He found himself slammed into the wall
again, the impact was harder than the last one, tears welled up and his
beautiful face was wrinkled in pain.
Sure enough, he had to pay for eating
her tofu. (Zuben: Didn't your dearly departed mama teach you not to glomp strangers)
Oooooh chapter one is very smooth. Nice job desu!!
