35 Put it on for me.

She had just bought clothes, there was no way she wasn’t around.

Huo Mu took the bag from her, ‘Nothing for you to be concerned with. You can return to your desk. Close the door on your way out. ‘

But she persisted, ‘Mr Huo, could I be presumptuous and ask; is she your girlfriend?’

Huo Mu regarded her with a serious expression, ‘Yes.’

She was stunned, but quickly returned to her desk.

Huo Mu went to his suite and found Guanguan still lying in a daze.

He placed the bag on the bed.

‘I’ve bought clothes.’

Guanguan lifted her hands up, ‘Put it on for me.’

Huo Mu sighed, and began took off her soiled clothes, and began to dress her.

As he put on her undies, she asked, ‘Was that your secretary just now?’

‘Hm.’

Guanguan hadn’t paid attention to the secretary when she had come in, her eyes and mind were full of Huo Mu. But she recalled that his secretary was a beautiful woman, with a good figure. Even with the professional suit, her breasts were still jumping out. (Zuben: Maybe she’s wearing a few sizes too small?) Her make up enhanced her beautiful face. Thinking about it, the secretary’s breast size must be similar to hers.

Guanguan now realised there was a beautiful personal secretary next to Huo Mu, working with him day and night!

‘Didn’t you see her when you came in? She brought you to the office.’

Guanguan pouted and asked, ‘How long as she worked for you?’

‘When I started, not many people wanted to join a new company, but she didn’t mind. She could be regarded as a veteran. Her business ability is quite strong, I’m surprised she hasn’t changed jobs.’

‘She must be well educated right? She looks very elegant.’

‘Harvard graduate. She started working for me when she came back from the US. She joined us because she believed she had a chance to progress.’

Guanguan exploded when she heard this.

Huo Mu was praising this person, and his tone was full of appreciation.

Not many elites were willing to help start a new company. Despite having her pick of companies to work for, she had chosen to work for him.

But to Guanguan, such a beautiful person returned from the US, didn’t go for the benefits of bigger more established companies, but chose to start this business with him. She was obviously attracted to Huo Mu because he was good-looking. That secretary wanted to get him.

The more she thought about it, the more she didn’t like it. In her heart, she felt as though she was drinking ten thousand year old vinegar. She could smell the sour scent coming off her own body. But she couldn’t get angry.

She turned to Huo Mu with a sly smile, ‘I see you have a good evaluation of her. You must like her very much. If I hadn’t shown up, the two of you would be together. After all you work together all the time, it’s easy to cultivate feelings. You shouldn’t have me. You could have had an office romance, after all she’s beautiful and intelligent. Compared to me, she would be a better girlfriend.’

But Guanguan refused to admit it, ‘How could I be? I’m just making you open your eyes to see that there are better candidates out there. Don’t you see that she’s good looking? If you miss this high-quality lady, won’t you regret it?’

Huo Mu nodded at her words, ‘It is true, you’re right.’

Guanguan knew she was being twisted, but why was he saying she was right. It was obvious what she as implying why was he agreeing with her. She pushed him away in a tantrum,

‘You go find her. Make her your girlfriend, and leave me since I don’t have her charms. Since you like her so much go and find her. Let go.’

Huo took her hand and sat her down on the bed, holding her, he said gently, ‘Baby, listen to me. I said you’re right, she’s intelligent and beautiful, but I don’t see it. All I have ever thought about is you. My heart is filled with thoughts of you. My dreams are of you. If I had any feelings like that for her, I would have been with her. I want no one else but you.’

Guanguan liked it when he called her “baby” (Zuben: My Huo Mu, on my mental white board, please don’t call me baby, thanks)

‘Then can you move her to a different department, a promotion? Even though you feel nothing for her, you can’t say the same about her. I don’t like the idea of you and her working late. What if she comes on to you? Will you let her go?’

Huo Mu didn’t hesitate, he nodded in agreement. (Zuben: I don’t know how I feel about this. He is not responsible for her feelings. But Chinese stories are full of cray-cray bitches that manage to get aphrodisiacs wily nilly .)

Guanguan suddenly looked down at his hand and noticed the rubber bracelet, ‘Is that the rubber bracelet I put on you when we were together?’

‘Yes,’ he nodded, ‘the one you tied on me.’

No wonder she had thought it looked familiar when she came to his office the first time. When they were in high school, it was in fashion for girls to tie a rubber bracelet on their boyfriend to warn other girls to keep away.

She hadn’t expected that he would still wear this for so many years.

She put her hand on his cheek and kissed him, ‘Huo Mu, I really, really, like you so much. I love you so much.’
